Body Cream Asked & Answered
What is the difference between body cream and body lotion?
Both body creams and body lotions are beneficial for skin and offer different levels of moisturization, while also helping to create a moisture-locking barrier to keep your skin hydrated. The main difference is product texture and oil content. Body lotions have a lower oil and higher water content, resulting in a lighter, thinner texture that absorbs into the skin more easily than cream. The Precipitation™ Moisture Recovery for Body uses Sunflower and Soybean Oils, along with Ginseng, Gentian Root and Clary Sage to refresh, renew, and replenish dull and dry body skin.
Body creams are thicker and have a higher oil content, such as the Ginger Souffle™ Whipped Body Cream. A higher oil content can soften your skin over time. This body cream nourishes and hydrates your skin for a silky feel, and it includes Olive, Grape Seed, Rice Bran, and Apricot Kernel Oils.
What are our best body creams for dry skin?
Body lotion for dry skin should provide the necessary daily moisture-rich protection to relieve and prevent flaky skin. The Precipitation™ Extra Moisture Recovery For Very Dry Skin is specialized for very dry and dry skin types. It replenishes and nourishes skin with Shea and Cocoa butters and Sunflower, Soybean, and Ginseng Oils, and penetrates to soften and renew your skin. Palmarosa, Galbanum, and Grapefruit scents refresh your mind, as well as your skin.
How often should you moisturize your body?
You may be wondering how often you should apply body lotion or body cream. How often you should apply body moisturizer depends on your skin type, the area on your body, and the external environment or conditions. Dry, winter months may require daily body moisturization to avoid flaky skin. Don’t forget the skin on your hands, which is subjected to frequent washing and sanitizing. Your hands can easily become dry and irritated without enough moisturization, so it’s recommended to use non-greasy hand cream many times throughout the day.
With Sunflower and Soybean Oils, Ginseng and Gentian Root, Precipitation™ Moisture Recovery for Body, delivers rich moisture and skin renewal without a greasy residue. We also have the Ginger™ Hand Lotion available for those who want a non-greasy hand lotion for regular everyday use.
How to use body oil
If you’re not sure how to apply body oil, first select your favorite body oil. Formulated with energizing Ginger and deeply hydrating Jojoba Oil, we recommend Ginger Gloss™ Smoothing Body Oil, which softens and revitalizes skin. To prevent mess, apply body oil in the shower once you’ve turned the water off. Smooth and gently massage the oil into damp skin. To remove excess oil, either splash cold water on your skin or blot with a towel without rubbing.
